GLUTTONY
"The bitterest of woes Is to
remember in the midst of pain A happy past"
As we walk along, we are greeted with "rain...heavy, cold, eternal, big with woe...Large hail and turbid water, mixed with snow."
We continue to travel "...o’er the spirits who lay [humiliated]", and I realize that "...for the damning sin of gluttony, [they are] beaten by this shower." Much like their insatiable desires, the storm never rests.
