Welcome to the New World! Whether it's Columbus' America, the Porto South, the Dutch East Indies, or the British New Continent...it's all out there, and it's all yours!

As a way of understanding the motives for expansion, and the direct successes from those motives, let's examine colonial expansion as evidence of an absolutist state. 

Get with a partner. One of you will become experts on the Columbian New World, the other, an expert on the colonial claimings of the constitutional monarchies of England and Holland. Click on your appropriate link below, and remember, you will become the expert on YOUR part of the world! You will be responsible for teaching your partner about your New World!
