King Philip V of Spain
Current Status:
On the heals of the "golden touch" of his father, Louis XIV, Phillip hopes to apply the same Louisian impacts to the Iberian Peninsula. Case in point: From 1700 to 1713, Philip allowed the French to have dominant influence over the Spanish court. We don't cry foul in this situation, but we know that "imitation is the sincerest form of flattery". However, we're looking to see if Phillip can create his own "Versaillito" of sorts.
Phillip has a few close friends, but prefers the solitary life of religion, hunting, and music. He is married, and loves his wife, who we believe has grand ambitions for the future of the Spanish Empire. As we know, the New World is owned by Spain, and we expect this continue.

Predictive Trajectory:
Phillip's first wife died in 1714, and we're waiting to see how his new wife, Isabella, affects his "world view". Analysts point to the fact he seems to succumb heavily to her will. She seems poised to secure Italian territories for her sons and daughters. Will this lead to an expansion of empire or a war with enemy nations? Only time will tell.
This ambition led to a war with Austria, Great Britain, France, and the United Provinces of Germany. He briefly turned over the thrown to his oldest son, Luis, but resumed the throne when Luis died of smallpox.
